About The Position

The Assistant Manager plays a key role in supporting all aspects of the food and beverage operations of Essensia Restaurant & Bar, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high standards of quality and driving profitability. This position ensures consistent leadership on the floor, maintains smooth guest flow at the entrance, and provides administrative support as part of the management team. This role requires independent judgment, leadership and the ability to manage a dynamic team in a fast-faced environment.

Requirements

  • 3 years of previous restaurant experience required, some of that in a supervisory or lead role
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills, a second language is an asset
  • Customer service–driven mindset
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong operational awareness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural team environment
  • Show genuine care for all Team Members and guest(s)
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
  • High School diploma required, higher education in Hospitality preferred
  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage Operations
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed
  • Comfortable working in a fast-faced, high-energy environment
  • You must be willing and available to fulfill changing operational demands.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily morning Food & Beverage operations of Essensia, with a focus on supporting the front-of-house team members
  • Implement service and brand standards, policies and procedures, to ensure consistency and excellence
  • Lead the daily pre‑shift meeting, preparing hospitality- and restaurant-focused discussion topics
  • Oversee the front door to ensure efficient guest flow and a welcoming arrival experience
  • Address and resolve guest concerns or complaints in a professional, service‑oriented manner
  • Collaborate with other F&B Departments (e.g. In-room Dining, Minibar, Gift Shop) to ensure an overall smooth operation
  • Following breakfast service, verify completion of server and busser side work
  • Train, coach and motivate team members to ensure consistent performance
  • Complete daily administrative tasks, including tips and daily recap
  • Review guest surveys and follow up as needed
  • Maintain appropriate inventory (i.e. liquor) - restocking and supply management using Adaco
  • Publish weekly schedule, review and approve timecards using Paycom
  • Print updated menus
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned
  • Maintain the highest level of customer service and guest satisfaction according to the standards set forth by The Palms Hotel and Spa
  • Ensure compliance with health and sanitation policies in all areas
  • Adhere to all fire, safety, and security procedures according to hotel policy
  • Adhere to all sustainability guidelines as per the Inspired by Nature Program.
