Our team is searching for an experienced, forward-looking Assistant Engineering Manager who’ll lead the overall maintenance team and our facilities, develop strategies to maximize our financial performance, and meticulously maintain the standards of all regulatory requirements. Ongoing repair and maintenance of the entire hotel and F&B facilities including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs Maintains effective Energy Management. Continuously looks for energy efficient solutions and Innovative projects Regularly lead, mentor and coordinate activities of the engineering staff engaged in maintaining and repairing the physical structure of the building promptly and efficiently to the required standard Conduct regular departmental meetings, performance evaluations and ensure ongoing development of Engineering team to ensure effective communication and standards are adhered to in the department Oversee departmental budget under the direction of the Director of Engineering and Hotel General Manager, including forecasting, budgeting, capital planning and proposals to ensure ongoing maintenance of the hotel Ensure all local, state and federal law compliance and building codes are adhered to Lead the hotels Fire Safety & Emergency Evacuation Teams As an Engineering Supervisor, you are responsible for the planning, organization, and direction of the engineering department to meet company objectives for design, new product development, and improvement of existing product lines by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Also will assist Area Chief Engineer to manage the engineering team to efficiently maintain all hotel operations such that safety, security, training, and compliance are ensured at the highest levels.

Requirements

  • A minimum of (3) years of engineering supervisor experience.
  • A minimum of (2) years of maintenance in hospitality experience preferred.
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Able to speak and understand Basic English.
  • Must be able to work independently and exercise good judgment to resolve issues.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
  • The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a preventive maintenance program for the property.
  • Ensures that all the maintenance and repairs to the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems are carried out and all the equipment is in good working order.
  • Recruit and train engineers in accordance with hotel guidelines.
  • Review the performance of engineers in accordance with hotel guidelines.
  • Perform inspections of operating machinery, equipment, and systems.
  • To ensures all works carried out should be on the schedule and should fully comply with local safety rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for keeping a supply and tool inventory for the department.
  • Responsible purchasing supplies for the department with the guidance and authorization of hotel manager.
  • Liaise with contractors to efficiently schedule work as required.
  • Ensures all workshop and working areas are kept clean, tidy, and hazard-free.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance and compliance with fire and safety regulations and municipal, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Ensure all equipment is used according to the manufactures recommendations and ensure all equipment is well maintained and is a good condition.
  • Responsible for monitoring employees' hours and reporting labor hours to the hotel manager for payroll purposes.
  • When needed may have to go out of the property to purchase supplies or equipment.
  • It is your responsibility to be alert and drive safe during working hours.
  • Also, other duties may be required as directed by Hotel Manager and Area Chief Engineer.
