About The Position

The Assistant Manager of Clinical Operations for the OR and Wound Care at IU Health Arnett Ambulatory Surgery Center plays a vital role in combining clinical expertise with contemporary leadership practices to deliver exceptional patient care and operational excellence. Reporting to the Unit Manager, this role is responsible for partnering in the development, execution, and evaluation of action plans focused on quality and safety improvements, care affordability, and delivering outstanding patient and team member experiences. As a key member of the interprofessional team, the Assistant Manager fosters an environment of empowerment and continuous improvement, advancing nursing practice through evidence-based care and adherence to professional standards. This position contributes to creating a culture of excellence within the organization. Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Required Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Previous experience in leadership is preferred, but not required.
  • Perioperative experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of inpatient nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Unit Manager to develop and implement action plans aimed at enhancing quality, safety, patient experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead the execution of these plans, monitor outcomes, and analyze effectiveness to foster continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a clinical leader, supporting staff development, fostering a positive work environment, and promoting adherence to evidence-based practices.
  • Advocate for professional nursing standards and advance nursing practice through ongoing education, mentorship, and role modeling.
  • Participate in unit staffing, scheduling, and resource management to ensure optimal patient care delivery.
  • Actively engage in interprofessional collaboration to meet organizational goals and elevate patient outcomes.
  • Support a culture of safety, quality, and patient-centered care through proactive leadership and problem-solving.
  • Contribute to the unit’s operational readiness during weekends, holidays, and after-hours as part of the leadership team.
