About The Position

As an Assistant Maintenance Technician, you are an integral part of the Maintenance team and play a key role in the daily upkeep of our apartment communities. You work closely with experienced Maintenance Technicians and the Maintenance Manager while gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of maintenance functions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, learning new skills, and taking pride in maintaining safe, clean, and well-kept communities. Your day may include assisting with plumbing repairs, minor electrical work, drywall patching, painting, appliance troubleshooting, groundskeeping, HVAC support, pool maintenance, and preparing apartments for re-leasing. You respond promptly to maintenance requests, communicate professionally with residents, and accurately document completed work. Each day brings a mix of routine tasks and unexpected challenges, ensuring the work stays engaging and rewarding.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn new maintenance skills and take direction
  • Ability to provide courteous, professional customer service to residents
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing demands
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in various and sometimes extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders up to 24 feet
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, crawl, climb, and work in tight or awkward spaces

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance, housekeeping, groundskeeping, construction trades, or related work or educational experience is preferred but not required
