About The Position

We are seeking a reliable Assistant Maintenance Technician to help maintain the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facilities. This role supports routine and preventive maintenance, assists with minor repairs, and works closely with senior technicians on larger projects. The ideal candidate has a hands-on approach, basic knowledge of building systems, and a commitment to following safety standards.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools.
Experience performing minor repairs and assisting with troubleshooting.
Prior experience in janitorial, building operations, or similar work is helpful.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work in various environments.
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or trade school preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with routine building maintenance and minor repairs, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks.
Respond promptly to work orders and support preventive maintenance programs.
Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of fixtures, appliances, and equipment.
Conduct routine inspections of facilities, grounds, and equipment to identify potential issues.
Assist with painting, drywall repair, and general handyman tasks.
Support senior technicians with complex repairs, installations, and vendor coordination.
Maintain outdoor areas, including mowing, trimming, and seasonal tasks like snow removal.
Help set up and break down furniture and equipment for events or meetings.
Monitor inventory of tools and supplies; report shortages and assist with ordering.
Document completed work and report outstanding issues to supervisors.
Follow all safety procedures, attend safety meetings, and report hazards immediately.
Provide excellent customer service when interacting with staff, residents, or vendors.
