Assists in directing production, distribution, quality control, and marketing operations for location or assigned territory of Heartland Co-op by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees as directed by the supervising Location Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Within parameters set by the supervising Location Manager, assist with the following: Coordinates production, distribution, warehousing, and sales in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by Heartland Co-op and Regional Manager. Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area. Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees. Reviews expenses and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of location. Reviews operations and directs sales program to develop income and new markets. Location leadership of grain quality, inventory control and safety compliance initiatives. Directs preparation of accounting records (sales, inventory, prepay, and expenses) for the location. Recommends budgets to management. Fills responsibility role and function of location manager during site Location Manager’s absence. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and commercial insurability at all times. Other duties as assigned by management. Supervisory Responsibilities: Within parameters set by Location Manager, Assistant Loc Mgr will directly supervises employees in the location. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include involvement levels of interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
