Apex Entertainment is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team and contribute to our commitment to exceptional guest service. As an Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and directing the daily operations of the kitchen and function areas, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency are upheld.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse team.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and people management abilities, promoting a positive and motivated team environment.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to address changes in circumstances and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor, representing the organization positively to employees, guests, and vendors.
  • Adaptability to change and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the food and beverage and/or hospitality industry.
  • Proficient in using MS Office applications for effective communication and organization.
  • Must have a valid driver's license or reliable transportation.
  • Ability to stand for 8-10 hours and perform various tasks in a dynamic kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise and manage a team of 5-25 employees, guiding and supporting them in their roles to ensure excellence.
  • Maintain accurate daily food logs and ensure consistent preparation and service of food products according to the restaurant's standards.
  • Oversee the completion of line checks at the start of each shift, enforcing sanitary practices for food handling and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Manage employee performance, providing constructive feedback and necessary discipline, while fostering continuous improvement.
  • Assist in organizing private events, acting as a liaison between Events and Operations for seamless execution.
  • Foster the growth of kitchen staff by promoting their professional and managerial development.
  • Ensure proper receiving of products, efficient purchasing of supplies, and control portion quantities to minimize waste.
  • Work collaboratively with managers and suppliers to maintain effective communication and streamlined operations.
