The Athletics Coach fulfills the mission of St. Joseph Catholic School by developing, collaborating, and administering the program in a way that adequately prepares the student-athletes for interscholastic competition and beyond. The Athletics Coach plans and runs practices, communicates effectively with parents and staff, and fosters relationships beyond just the Varsity, such as with the Junior High, who are the next generation of SJCS athletes. The regular season occurs during the school year in accordance with the TAPPS Calendar. The off-season occurs in the months before and after the regular season. The spring and summer are used for summer camps / sport-specific instruction (SSIs). This is a stipend position. Open teaching fields can be linked for the right candidates. Stipend-only positions are not benefits-eligible. We are a TAPPS member school. Ministerial Character Catholic schools in the Diocese of Austin are canonically obedient to the Bishop and assist him in fulfilling his ministry and canonical obligations. Pastors, presidents, and principals serve as leaders of the schools to make Christ's mission present and enduring in the schools. In order to fulfill Christ's mission, the school leaders employ suitable, chosen collaborators, sharing with them Christ's mission and entrusting to them various responsibilities. Positions employed in this School help extend the ministry of the School leaders in particular ways as outlined in the job description. The employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the School leaders in the performance of their ministry and, therefore, engages in ministry for the Church.
