About The Position

The Inbound Manager is responsible for managing all processes that are related to products being received into the warehouse. The Inbound Manager is responsible for the proper use of manpower, motivating associates; ensuring associates are in compliance with all safety policies, ensuring all products are quality and quantity check upon arrival. It is also the Inbound Manager's responsibility to ensure all inbound products are properly received in our inventory systems.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma, prefer associates or bachelors.
  • Three to five years produce industry experience.
  • Three years of supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Forklift and pallet experience and certification.
  • Ability to operate well under constant change.
  • Ability to motivate and train associates.
  • Ability to delegate and assign work tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Good working knowledge of the following: inventory control practices and procedures, including forms associated with inventory control, product lines and their dimensions; products sold by SYSCO; Good working knowledge of SYSCO safety and security policies; equipment associated with warehouse activities and the operation of the equipment; management principles including developing objectives, projecting and managing under a budget, evaluating department operations, and managing and motivating employees; Necessary interdepartmental communications related to warehouse and safety activities.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing daily receiving, selection processes on the dock and in the coolers. Additional departments may vary by Opco to include yard, facilities, forklift, and quality assurance.
  • Communicating with the receiving team and procurement team on daily basis to explore opportunities within the inbound processes.
  • Continuously reviews standard operating procedures to create efficiencies.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues as needed.
  • Hire, motivate, train, develop, terminate, coach, and evaluating selectors, high lift, receivers and quality inspectors' performance on the dock.
  • Review the team's CMP's (congestion management process) regularly to ensure they are on track to meet their goals.
  • Additional departments may vary by OPCO (operating company) to include yard and facilities.
  • Develops and promotes warehouse goals and objectives while working with operations management in planning and supervising activities.
  • Department planning, not limited to scheduling, staffing, and budget decisions.
  • Assists in planning and developing a warehouse operating budget.
  • Evaluations of warehouse operations in terms of fiscal management to ensure all activities are within budgetary constraints.
  • Analyze, identify and propose solutions to problems regarding operations of the warehouse in an effort to increase the effectiveness of the operations department.
  • Work with inventory manager to review and control product shrink, monitor outflow of product, assign coolers to specific employees and update product code slots as needed.
