About The Position

Assist in maintaining county owned buildings, grounds, and equipment to preserve the buildings and to provide a safe and healthy environment for employees and clients.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to read and follow instructions to operate equipment
  • 5 years’ experience in the HVAC and plumbing field
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, access to dependable transportation
  • Universal CFC Certificate
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Employment is dependent on background check, criminal history, and drug screen
  • Applicant must complete County application form
  • Ability to lift/carry up to and in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, crawl in small spaces, crouch, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work outdoors and under somewhat adverse conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Considerable knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, and/or air conditioning equipment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Primary job function is HVAC and plumbing
  • Repair and maintain the heating, electrical, and air-conditioning systems in county owned buildings
  • Maintain sidewalks, i.e., snow and ice removal
  • Maintain exterior of buildings
  • Paint and recondition offices
  • Maintain daily work records
  • Operate power equipment
  • Operation, maintenance and repair of refrigerant, compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, transfer pumps, expansion valves, stop valves and float valves
  • Maintenance and repair of building automation systems for HVAC
  • Repair sanitary sewer systems, sump pumps and basins
  • Refer to utilize MSDS and HASCOM
