About The Position

The Hourly Trainer is responsible for following up with new hires and team members that have transitioned into new roles/departments to ensure team members are properly trained on procedures, meet expectations to operate and maintain equipment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. ATTN Team Members: This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner. Team Members hired into part time positions are not eligible to bid on promotional positions and/or transfers for a period of 6 months.

Requirements

  • Must understand process workflows, production/quality/and safety expectations and proper processes/procedures for production
  • Must be able to perform the Trainer Checklist job tasks within expected training period.
  • Must be able to follow direction and stay on task with little to no supervision.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate to colleagues and management.
  • Must have ability to troubleshoot issues, handle conflict, and communicate in professional manner
  • Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Outlook
  • Must be able to read and understand SOP’s, manuals, and related documentation as written.
  • Must be self-directed with ability to work well and stay on task with little to no supervision
  • Must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Team Member will Flex wrists and hands.
  • Team Member will walk, bend, stand, twist, push and pull on a regular basis.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 35- 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
  • Team Member will move heavy objects ( 100 lbs.) with a mechanical device.
  • Must have or be able to obtain licensing to operate forklift and RT.

Responsibilities

  • Will assist in training team members on topics including but not limited to General Manufacturing Processes, Tyson policies and procedures including safety and quality expectations, and production schedules and expectations.
  • Will observe behavior of trainers and trainees and follow up with all new hires on regular basis to answer questions, ensure they are following proper processes, and meeting training/production expectations.
  • Will be a point of contact for team members in answering questions and providing resources.
  • Must maintain accurate records, training documents, checklists/logs, and other required documentation in system.
  • Must monitor training progression of team members to confirm training aligns with quality expectations and qualifications for specific position in order to sign off on training.
  • Must also confirm team members understands position requirements and all training covered (including safety/quality) for position(s) prior to signing off on training.
  • Will track tardiness, absenteeism, training availability, and terminations of trainees.
  • Will assist with administrative duties including, but not limited to, creating of documents and training materials, assisting team members with applying for job bids and other system functions.
  • Must communicate any issues/concerns to Learning Manager, Production Supervisor and/or Manager in timely manner.
  • Must lead by example and maintain professional while building positive culture and training environment
  • Responsible for following company policies/procedures written or verbal.
  • Performs all other tasks as assigned.
