About The Position

We are seeking a results-driven Interim Assistant Hospital Manager to lead operations in a high-volume emergency and specialty hospital during a 3–6 month assignment. This role is ideal for a strong, hands-on leader who can quickly assess operations, stabilize teams, and drive efficiency in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a veterinary or clinical setting
  • Proven ability to support hospital operations and lead teams under the leadership of the Hospital Director.
  • Strong background in process improvement and change management
  • Ability to step in quickly, assess needs, and deliver results
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment
  • CA VACSP (or ability to obtain within 60 days) or active CA-RVT license

Nice To Haves

  • Emergency/specialty veterinary experience
  • Interim or transitional leadership experience
  • Familiarity with scheduling/workforce management tools

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day operational leadership to ensure continuity of care and efficient workflows
  • Lead, coach, and support clinical and support department teams and leads
  • Optimize staffing and scheduling to maintain appropriate coverage
  • Identify gaps and implement process improvements for better patient care and team performance
  • Oversee and standardize training and SOPs across departments
  • Partner with leadership to drive alignment, communication, and accountability
  • Ensure compliance, safety, and quality standards are consistently met
