About The Position

The Assistant Golf Pro will help in all areas of Golf Operations including, but not limited to: instruction, opening/closing golf shop duties, retail operations, tournament management, supervising Player Services staff and any other duties assigned by the Director of Golf. Assists Director of Golf in instructing and with merchandising, on-course, golf car and personnel management responsibilities. Assists members by providing and interpreting golf policies, rules, and regulations. Conducts golf clinics. Operates Pro Shop in absence of Director of Golf and or Co-Lead Assistants. Oversees Pro Shop inventory and periodically conducts physical counts of merchandise, including scorecards, tees, matches, pencils, ball marks, golf car tags and tee sheets. Assists in the coordination of tournaments and special events. Ensures all tournament winners are properly entered into the credit book with correct dates and description of event. Assists with junior golf activities. Provides golf instruction. Keeps updated on times needed for golf clinics and group lessons. Performs starter or marshal duties as needed. Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Director of Golf. May perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a member of the PGA or PGA Apprentice working to attain PGA Professional status.
  • Associate degree or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of typical golf course procedures.
  • Fully knowledgeable of all opening and closeout procedures of the Golf Pro Shop.
  • Familiar with all aspects of tournament set-up, including scorecards, golf car tags, proximities, staging area set-up and billing charges.
  • Keeps Golf Pro Shop counter and club repair area neat, clean, and organized at all times.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of the handicapping system and all pertinent handicap information.
  • Stays up-dated and current on all upcoming Club events.
  • Maintains playing ability and work to stay competent in all areas of the game.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe working environment, with emphasis on promoting employee health and safety.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
  • Ability to follow written and oral directions.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities and to work independently.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to maintain personal hygiene.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in highly fluid and dynamic environment.

  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass employment background check and motor vehicle record checks.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license in accordance with the laws of the State of Montana; must be insurable under the company’s auto insurance policy.
  • Must be able to work variable schedule or irregular hours to include last-minute scheduling needs/changes and working split shifts based on needs of the Club operations and scheduled events.
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekday, weekend, early morning/late evening, and overtime hours as required.
  • Ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions as needed and to walk on uneven ground.
  • Ability to perform same-day travel on Stock Farm Property and within local geographic region.
