Assistant Golf Professional
About The Position
The Assistant Golf Professional is a key member of the golf operations team and assists the Head Golf Professional in managing all golf and golf-related activities at the facility. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction of all members and guests. The Assistant Golf Professional must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills. They must possess the ability to interact with members and staff on all levels in a professional, positive, and friendly manner. This position requires a highly professional demeanor, adaptability, flexibility and adherence to a strict level of confidentiality. The ability to comprehend and carry out instructions while working as a team player is critical. Follow through is the key to success. This position will be required to work all shifts, days, weekends, and holidays. Member and guest play, pace of play, range and short game activities and other essential facets of the department will be the daily responsibilities of the Assistant Golf Professional.
Requirements
- Golf operations: 3 years preferred
Responsibilities
- Ensure all member and guests are greeted and welcomed in a professional and courteous manner.
- Reconciles member and guest golf shop transactions on POS. Produces daily reports at close.
- Schedules tee times, monitor golf shop phone, merchandise sales, and attend to member services.
- Coordinates/executes all facets of golf tournaments and events. Anticipates upcoming events and initiates preparation.
- Arrives for shift on time, professional in appearance and positive attitude as stated below:
- Well-groomed, shaven
- Enthusiastic, accommodating attitude
- Pressed, clean attire in good condition (See dress code)
- Assist, organize and administer the club tournament programs. Assist in the development of promotional materials to communicate the program to the members and their guests.
- Supervises Outside Services Staff while monitoring outside operations, pace of play and safety on golf course.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment, with continual emphasis on promoting employee health and safety. Also, assists in training colleagues in proper safety techniques.
- Golf instruction for Members only and assist with Junior Program.
- Play golf with Members.
