Assistant Golf Professional
About The Position
We are currently looking for a friendly and creative Assistant Golf Professional to join our Golf Shop Department! Quail West is a leading private golf and country club that prides itself on providing world-class facilities for Members and their guests and an extraordinary and inclusive, yet unpretentious lifestyle. One of Southwest Florida’s most welcoming clubs, Quail West’s courses, facilities and services are shared by a limited number of members to enhance the quality of the member experience. The Assistant Golf Professional will assist with golf-related activities resulting in an exceptional overall golf experience for members and guests. This position will be tasked with assisting in golf shop operations, club tournaments, club repair, enforcing Club rules, and overall customer service. This is a Salary-Full time position Compensation: $60,000+ commission!
Requirements
- Computer: Ability to proficiently use Microsoft office, (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Language: Ability to read, write and comprehend correspondence, memos, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees.
- Mathematics: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages
- Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Other:
- Possess strong organizational, written and time management skills.
- Exhibit professionalism and leadership qualities through own self-actions.
- Must be compliant with and actively support a drug free workplace.
- Comply with all rules and regulations as stated whether verbal or written.
- Minimum requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous Golf Pro Shop or Country Club Experience is a must.
- Must be detail oriented, organized, multi-task oriented and possess excellent communication skills.
- PGA Member or Apprentice Required.
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, stand and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
Nice To Haves
- Ladies and Couples golf programming preferred.
- Familiarity with golf tournament software, like Golf Genius, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Exhibit the highest level of customer service for our members and guests
- Promote the facility programs, events, and image to the membership
- Communicate in a professional manner and tone with fellow staff across all departments
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Relay important information to management staff including member/guest issues, work equipment not functioning properly, or staff misconduct
- Proactively manage daily workflow to maximize productivity and efficiency
- Study the tournament/event calendar to be able to promote the events to the membership
- Take ownership of your work
- Assist in Tournament Operations
- Manage the ForeTees Online Tee Time System
- Greet members first by name
- All other duties as required
