LBI National Golf & Resort is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Full-Time Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure the highest standards of golf course maintenance and presentation. You will play a key part in the implementation of agronomic strategies, team management, and maintaining the pristine condition of our golf course, enhancing the experience for our valued members and guests. Requirements

  • Degree or certificate in Turf Management, Agronomy, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in golf course maintenance or similar horticultural environment beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of agronomic practices and plant health care techniques.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and inspire a diverse team.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Valid driver's license is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and execution of day-to-day maintenance and agronomic operations on the golf course.
  • Supervise and direct grounds staff in the maintenance of the course, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor course conditions and oversee pest and weed control treatments to optimize turf health and appearance.
  • Schedule and perform routine irrigation system checks and adjustments, ensuring optimal water usage.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent to develop and implement effective fertilization and pesticide application programs.
  • Assist in the maintenance and operation of golf course equipment, promoting equipment longevity and performance.
  • Participate in budget management and contribute to cost-effective maintenance strategies.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to grounds staff, fostering a team-oriented work environment.
  • Ensure excellent playing conditions are maintained, addressing member and guest feedback professionally.
