As an Assistant General Manager, you will lead a team in a neighborhood bakery-cafe, inspiring and celebrating them, partnering with the General Manager in overseeing operations, delighting guests, and growing the business. You will also take ownership of hiring, training, and development at your location. The role involves making key decisions, problem-solving, managing staffing needs, scheduling, and people development. You will support the hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members, motivating and engaging the entire team. The position requires assisting with managing team performance to meet goals, operational and quality standards, and guest service expectations. You will partner with the General Manager to develop managers on people processes and Panera’s Guiding Values & Behaviors, ensuring every guest is delighted by food quality and service. Building engaging relationships with guests is key. You must follow operational procedures, ensure compliance with company policies and regulations, and maintain a healthy and safe workplace. Additionally, you will assist the General Manager in maintaining overall costs and inventory and help build a culture of warmth, belonging, growth, and trust.
