Assistant General Manager
About The Position
The Assistant General Manager is responsible for adhering to company standards and service levels to optimize sales and control costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility, and labor. This role involves assisting the General Manager with financial and personnel/payroll administrative duties, maintaining the restaurant's professional image, and ensuring positive guest service by investigating and resolving complaints. The Assistant General Manager will also manage shifts, make daily operational decisions, schedule staff, plan, and ensure consistent high-quality food preparation and service. A key aspect of the role is providing direction and development to employees through ongoing feedback, performance expectations, and reviews.
Requirements
- At least 2+ years of senior level management experience in a full-service, high-volume dining establishment
- Extensive front of house knowledge; Advanced knowledge of financial aspects
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Stable and progressive work history; Strong work ethic
Responsibilities
- Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility, and labor costs
- Assist the General Manager in ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards
- Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Investigate and respond to complaints, taking all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests
- Manage shifts which include daily decision making, scheduling, planning while ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service
- Provide direction to employees regarding operations and procedural issues while developing employees by providing ongoing feedback, establish performance expectations and by conducting performance reviews
