2026-2027 Coach - Assistant Football Coach - CMS
About The Position
Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is seeking an Assistant Football Coach for the 2026-2027 school year at Christiansburg Middle School. The coach will be responsible for planning and implementing a high-quality athletic program that emphasizes fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while also ensuring high safety standards for all athletes. Additionally, the coach must uphold high academic standards for team members by monitoring their academic performance to ensure eligibility requirements are met. This position operates under the direction of the Athletic Director and/or Principal.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be age 21 or older
- Successful completion of the Virginia High School League (VHSL) required courses accessible at https://www.vhsl.org/coach-education/
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, and school administrators
- Ability to motivate students
- Ability to be dependable and punctual
- Regular and predictable on-site attendance is required
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a coach or participation in the sport at the high school or college level
- Current CPR certification
