About The Position

The athletic program at Appalachian State University operates on the premise that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of the institution’s overall program of education. Priority is given to high standards of both academic and athletic quality — the goal being the complete development of the student-athlete. At Appalachian State University, student-athletes will be provided with the opportunity and encouraged to progress toward a degree of their choice, and the opportunity to develop athletic abilities in an environment consistent with high standards of academic scholarship, sportsmanship, leadership and institutional loyalty. The intercollegiate athlete representing App State will be a bonafide student pursuing a degree program, as well as an amateur competitor.

Requirements

  • BOC Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Masters preferred)
  • At least two years of experience in athletic training after certification (preferably with Power 5, Group of 5, or FCS .)
  • Eligible for state licensure by the State of North Carolina Board of Athletic Training

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prevention, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries under the direction of the Appalachian State University Team Physicians.
  • Daily athletic training room operations
  • Coverage of events and practices for football
  • Supervision of athletic training students
  • Other administrative duties assigned by the Director of Football Athletic Training Services.
