The Assistant Food Service Director impact is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of food service activities within the organization. Collaborating closely with the Food Service Director, you play a multifaceted role in driving excellence, efficiency, and innovation across all aspects of food service management. The Assistant Food Service Director is dedicated to fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement among food service staff. Through training, coaching, and mentorship, I empower team members to excel in their roles, deliver exceptional customer service, and uphold the organization's mission and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years proven experience in food service management, restaurant management, or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
  • Proficiency in inventory control and cost management
  • Familiarity with POS systems for efficient order processing
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff
  • ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card required
  • Successful candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including the ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations.
  • Ability to provide documents for work authorization.
  • We utilize E-Verify, an online system that allows us to confirm the eligibility of our employees to work in the United States.
  • This job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise.
  • Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in catering operations is a plus
  • Certification in Culinary Arts or Kitchen Management is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of food service operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation, and follow and teach state and federal regulations
  • Oversee inventory control, ordering supplies, and managing food costs effectively
  • Utilize POS systems for order processing and tracking sales data
  • Lead and train staff in culinary techniques, customer service, and operational procedures
  • Coordinate banquet events and catering services
  • Collaborate with kitchen management to streamline processes and enhance efficiency
  • Manage projects related to kitchen expansion, new development, and future state
  • Financial management of department budget including food, labor, and overall spend
  • Other duties as directed.
