About The Position
Talent Vision is recruiting a part-time Assistant Fencing Instructor to join a community sports program serving youth in the Bronx, NY area. The Assistant Fencing Instructor will support the Head Instructor in delivering safe, inclusive, and engaging fencing instruction. This role involves assisting with group lessons, one-on-one skill development, equipment management, and creating a positive environment that builds technical skill, sportsmanship, and confidence for participants of varying ages and abilities.
Requirements
- Experience with fencing
- Experience working with children (school, camp, coaching, etc.) preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Punctual, dependable, and professional
- Background check and clearance for working with youth required, where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead instructor with daily fencing lessons and activities
- Help set up and break down equipment before and after classes
- Supervise and manage groups of up to 30 students
- Reinforce safety rules and proper fencing techniques
- Support student engagement and maintain a positive learning environment
- Provide encouragement and basic skill guidance to beginners
