About The Position

Job Responsibilities 1.  Raising and caring of poults from placement until move 2.  Includes responsibilities such as general repairs and maintenance 3.  Daily and weekly preparation and scheduling 4.  Implementation and execution of daily chores 5.  Ability to follow sanitation policies as prescribed by company directives 6.  Will be held responsible for flock performance 7.  Assist in the supervision of employees sent to the farm 8.  Ability to work scheduled weekends or holidays 9.  Will rotate with other farms as scheduled 10. Documentation of flock and bird health records 11. Other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor related to flock health and bird comfort.  12. Assist with placement of day-old poults at other farms as scheduled

Requirements

  • Cannot own or raise any type of fowl (i.e. turkeys, chickens, geese, pheasants, parakeets, etc.)
  • Ability to meet all sanitation requirements
  • Able to work scheduled weekends or holidays
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • No performance work actions in the last 6 months
  • No attendance work actions in the last 6 months
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment with ammonia present in all weather conditions while using approved respiratory protection
  • Facial hair must not compromise respirator face to mask seal (No beards)
  • PHYSICAL: Able to twist, stoop, bend, squat, lift, carry & reach while handling turkeys, feed, litter, equipment in a weight range of <10 pounds to >50 pounds from occasionally to a frequent basis

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous turkey experience and/or a farm background (2 years)
  • Possess good communications and supervisory skills based on experience or training
