About The Position

Assistant Facility Security Officer - Top Secret clearance required At PMAT, we work on mission critical systems that directly support the warfighter, designing, building, and securing modern digital capabilities across cloud, data, and software environments. In this role, you’ll contribute to PMAT’s internal security and compliance operations, supporting the protection of classified information and the integrity of our cleared workforce. You’ll work alongside leadership, program teams, and the Facility Security Officer (FSO) to ensure adherence to NISPOM requirements, maintain personnel and facility security processes, and help sustain a secure, compliant environment that enables mission-critical work in support of national defense. About the role: The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) supports the management and administration of the site’s National Industrial Security Program (NISP). This role ensures regulatory compliance for contractual efforts in accordance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), serving as a subject matter expert for NISP regulatory compliance and collateral security. The AFSO collaborates and supports the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and leadership to maintain a secure and compliant workplace.

Requirements

  • Professional experience working as an AFSO; DOD related security experience.
  • Experience with DoD processes, procedures, or equivalent regulatory environment preferred.
  • Basic understanding of NISP, 32 CFR Part 117, and policies for safeguarding National Security Information.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems, plan projects, analyze data, and produce clear documentation.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and travel as required.
  • US Citizenship required
  • Active and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Completed Facility Security Officer Program Management for Safeguarding Certification is preferred but not required upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing, managing, and enforcing all aspects of the NISPOM per federal and company policies.
  • Utilize Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) for personnel security actions.
  • Initiate, review, and process security clearance packages; conduct fingerprints as needed.
  • Track and maintain Personnel Security (PERSEC) information, clearance status, training records, and visit certifications (VARs).
  • Implement visitor control procedures and process classified visit requests.
  • Provide security education, briefings, and debriefings.
  • Investigate and review security violations under direction; recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain document control for classified materials, including marking, transmission, and destruction.
  • Support incident reporting, administrative inquiries, and mitigation efforts.
  • Participate in risk management efforts and vulnerability assessments.
  • Support security self-inspections, government security reviews (e.g., DCSA), and compliance audits.
  • Assist with the Insider Threat Program and annual compliance reporting.
  • Serve as a point of contact for NISP-related policy and compliance matters.
  • Other duties as assigned.
