About The Position

The Assistant Executive Steward plays a crucial role in banquet operations, inventory management, and procurement by overseeing the stewarding department’s daily logistics, supporting event setups and breakdowns, and managing sanitation standards. Job Description: Assistant Executive Steward Overview The Assistant Executive Steward is responsible for coordinating all activities related to banquet logistics in partnership with the stewarding and porter teams. This position emphasizes operational excellence in inventory management, procurement, sanitation, and the organization required for top-tier event execution.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in banquet operations and food and beverage logistics.
  • Strong organizational skills for inventory management and equipment control.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage cross-functional teams and union relationships.
  • Proficiency in procurement, vendor relations, and systems such as Adaco.
  • Flexibility to support special projects and departmental needs as assigned.

  • Culinary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and train stewarding members in the setup and breakdown of daily events, ensuring all culinary, beverage, and banquet needs are met efficiently.
  • Oversee processes for organizing and transporting clean dishware, plateware, and display ware from stewarding to service outlets.
  • Collaborate with stewarding and culinary leadership to define roles, establish accountability, and build out new logistics frameworks.
  • Rebuild and maintain processes for equipment organization within the stewarding department to ensure seamless event setups and reliable inventory oversight.
  • Manage inventory of chemicals and cleaning materials and facilitate their transport and availability for sanitation teams.
  • Ongoing inventory control across all outlets.
  • Responsible for equipment ordering for beverage, banquet, and culinary teams, collaborating with relevant department leads to ensure timely and accurate procurement of supplies.
  • Support purchasing functions, maintaining strong relationships with vendors and ensuring cost-effective sourcing for all stewarding needs.
  • Provide administrative support for hiring, scheduling & payroll reporting.
  • Track and report ongoing work order requests in coordination with the culinary and engineering teams.
  • Serve as liaison for operational support tasks such as, CPP-reporting and compliance at all tiers, Special Event labor reporting, assist as representative at operational meetings & Daily BEO Meetings.
  • Liaison with Night ops team for high standards of cleanliness and daily upkeep of all kitchens and BOH areas
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation requirements as part of day-to-day operations and event preparation.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, training, and operational accountability among stewarding staff.
