About The Position

Assists with the logistical set up of extravagant venues to include carrying & moving tables, chairs, lighting and other items during the events at New College of Florida. Provides expertise to all upscale events as this is a revenue generating position for New College of Florida Interacts with a variety of clients for small to large events, like internal and external meetings, conferences and weddings. Engages with high-profile clients and guests to support a variety of elaborate events Interfaces with vendors, guests and college staff at various events Ensures all logistical setups are complete and cleared in a timely manner Assists in oversight of vendor load-ins and load-outs Maintains safety of property in conjunction with campus police (CPD) Enforces established rules and policies for sound, guests, and vendor conduct Sets up and operates A/V equipment Serves as point of contact for rental events Provides excellent customer service to all clients, guests and vendors Attends planning meetings as requested Maintains event equipment and supplies Works varied hours including nights, holidays and weekends as required Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A flexible schedule that can accommodate evenings (some as late as 1:00am), mornings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of New College of Florida.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs. and walk distances.
  • Valid Driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting, as well as ability to self-direct work at various times.
  • Customer service, previous event logistics experience and experience with A/V equipment.
