About The Position
Goforth Electric is a forward-thinking electrical contractor based in Rochester, NY. We leverage cutting-edge technology to improve efficiency and accuracy in our projects, including the integration of advanced estimating and material management software. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Estimator/Detailer to support our estimating and preconstruction team. This role will assist with implementing and optimizing estimating software, performing quantity takeoffs, developing electrical layouts, and supporting project planning and procurement efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to grow within the electrical construction industry.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (electrical training or coursework preferred)
- Familiarity with estimating or PDF-based software tools preferred
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and components
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Responsibilities
- Assist with implementation and optimization of estimating software
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from construction documents
- Generate and organize detailed material lists for pricing and procurement
- Develop electrical layouts and drawings (lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, etc.)
- Maintain material cost databases and project documentation
- Collaborate with estimators, project managers, and purchasing teams
- Develop and deliver training materials for internal software use
