About The Position

GAI Consultants, Inc is seeking an Assistant Engineering Director to work out of our Cranberry Township, Homestead, or Southpointe, PA offices within our Transportation Business Unit. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment. The candidate must be a team player who excels in collaborative environments and has the ability to independently lead traffic tasks with complex features by work performed directly or through supervision of others. Shall be familiar with PennDOT, PA Turnpike, and MUTCD design requirements. Allegheny County and City of Pittsburgh experience a plus. Responsibilities Include: Leading the production and checking of technical traffic reports, design plans, design calculations, specifications, and cost opinions. Primary tasks will include leading and performing traffic modeling and analysis (Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/SimTraffic, etc.), traffic signal design, signing and pavement marking design; and traffic control (Maintenance and Protection of Traffic) design. Assist with developing and providing oversight for the preparation of scopes, budgets, and schedules for specific tasks of overall projects, supervise staff to complete their assigned tasks; identify project staffing requirements and coordinate staffing with supervisor; maintain GAI’s procedures and protocols; assist with all aspects of financials on projects. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. General Characteristics Makes decisions with broad influence on activities of their organizations. Requirements

• 20+ years of experience
• B.S. or M.S. Engineering, master’s degree or Equivalent Experience Preferred.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) License, reciprocity in multiple states.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Shall be familiar with PennDOT, PA Turnpike, and MUTCD design requirements.
