About The Position

The Assistant Director will direct and supervise staff and coordinate the activities of program managers that are consistent with Girl Scout standards.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old
• At least one season of experience in an administration or supervisory capacity (preferably in organized youth activities)
• Ability to select, train, and supervise staff
• Ability to adapt to changes
• Ability to direct others in crisis situations
• Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities
• Must hold membership in the Girl Scout organization and subscribe to the tenets of the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
• Ability to stand on your feet for an extended period.
• Ability to lift to 40 pounds.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to seasonal weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• To supervise and evaluate the camp staff.
• In conjunction with the camp director, plan and schedule activities that reflect the Girl Scout program.
• Serve as consultants for Programs Manager, Operations Manager, and Unit Manager for program ideas within the units.
• Acts as an ambassador for camp visitors and parents.
• Along with the camp director, help handle camper emergencies.
• Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and amongst the membership.
• These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned, and other duties may be assigned as required.
