About The Position

The Learning Experience – River Vale is seeking a motivated Assistant Director to help support center operations, coach teaching staff, and ensure a high-quality experience for children and families across our infant through preschool classrooms. This role is ideal for an early childhood professional who enjoys leadership responsibilities while remaining closely connected to classroom quality and team development.

Requirements

  • CDA credential required
  • Previous childcare or preschool experience required
  • Strong understanding of licensing regulations and classroom operations
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Center Director to support daily school operations
  • Help guide teachers in implementing curriculum and classroom routines
  • Monitor classrooms to maintain health, safety, and licensing compliance
  • Assist with staff scheduling and ratio coverage throughout the day
  • Support tours, enrollment conversations, and family engagement
  • Provide coaching and feedback to strengthen teaching practices
  • Step into classrooms as needed to support transitions and staffing needs
  • Maintain accurate records aligned with New Jersey licensing expectations
