About The Position

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS), a nonprofit founded in 1943, has grown to be the largest provider of licensed outpatient community mental health services and one of the largest human service agencies in Westchester County. We provide state-of-the-art programs and services and compassionate care to more than 20,000 people of all ages and backgrounds each year. WJCS is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Assistant Director to join our Senior Programs team. In this role, you will partner closely with the Director of Senior Programs to supervise and coordinate the operation of services to seniors. The salary range for this full-time position is $70,000 - $73,000.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or related degree.
  • Experience working with the senior population and familiarity with the aging process.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of senior services, entitlements, and appropriate recreational and supportive programming for the impaired elderly population.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word; comfort with electronic systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Support the growth and sustainability of senior services by expanding billable and grant-funded programs that respond to community needs.
  • Assist the Director of Senior Programs with the supervision of all aspects of the department and support on-site staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Work with and supervise program staff to ensure completion of government contract forms and adherence to contract requirements.
  • Supervise Home Delivered Meals, CRC program staff ensuring they adhere to all contract requirements.
  • Work with WJCS staff and Senior Program staff to develop outreach efforts and additional funding streams to sustain the program.
  • Develop and implement outreach efforts and relationships with partner organizations, especially in areas determined to be high needs with many Seniors – including our new Yonkers Hub.
  • Develop framework and processes for Medicaid billing, including utilizing Netsmart, and supporting staff through the transition.
  • Assist with grant writing, grant reporting, financial reporting, and the development of new programming as needed.
  • Coordinate quarterly Senior Services meetings between WJCS and FSSY.
