This position's responsibilities include the implementation of all department goals to meet the district mission for inclusive educational programs for students with disabilities with a focus on instructional best practices and compliance. The assistant director provides leadership and direction of all assigned programs and is responsible for the success of those programs at designated locations. Responsibilities typically include supporting special education programs and services at the secondary level. This position assists the executive director and/or designee with staffing, policy development, implementation of special education regulations, staff development, school support, data collection, record keeping, and the selection and evaluation of staff.
