About The Position

We are seeking a driven Assistant Director of Sales to partner with the Complex DOSM in executing strategic sales plans that maximize profitability and market share. You will lead business development by securing high-yield opportunities, managing the citywide segment, and mentoring the sales team to exceed revenue targets.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of sales experience in full-service hotel sales.
  • Positive, upbeat attitude and proven ability to work collaboratively.
  • Strong network within the travel, corporate, Association, SMERF sectors.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Professional and polished demeanor, with a high level of emotional intelligence.
  • Deep understanding of hospitality service standards and guest expectations.
  • Proficient in sales CRM systems, CI/TY experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Team Management: Coach, support, train, and mentor the sales team. Hold individuals accountable to achieve productivity, activity, and strategic goals.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the GM, Complex DOSM, and DORM to develop and deploy sales strategies.
  • Internal Synergy: Strengthen relationships between sales and other hotel departments.
  • Brand Ambassador: Participate in regular hotel, brand, and company initiatives.
  • Citywide Management: Lead the citywide segment and manage relationships with Explore St. Louis and third-party partners.
  • Lead Generation: Proactively prospect (cold calling/digital) across Corporate, Association, Government, and SMERF segments.
  • Relationship Management: Nurture high-level connections with travel managers, meeting planners, and agency partners.
  • Pipeline Tracking: Align prospecting with hotel positioning and report on all business development activities.
