About The Position

dWELL Recovery is a gender-affirming recovery housing community dedicated to supporting young adults on their transition to independence. With a focus on skill-based learning and community support, dWELL offers a new experience of structured living; one that embraces the recovery experience for individuals with a range of mental health concerns, while providing a soft landing that affirms people of all genders, gender identities, and expressions. We are seeking a visionary leader to serve as our Assistant Director, a pivotal role that will lead our new Washington, DC dWELL Recovery location and our Transitional Living Program (TLP). This individual will be responsible for program operations, overseeing resident care, supporting staff development, and ensuring the highest quality of services. Requirements

  • Bachelor's (required) MA/MS (preferred) - Either or both in social science field
  • Ideal candidate has at least 3 years related experience with Substance Use Disorders and 12-Step Recovery Model
  • Ideal candidate has at least 3 years of related experience in adolescent or young adult treatment Center
  • Ideal candidate has at least 3 years experience of experience in Mental Health Facility, Program management; Crisis Management
  • Must have strong supervisory or managerial experience, with a proven ability to lead and develop a team
  • Must have early morning, evening, and weekend flexibility to meet program needs.
  • Availability to participate in an after-hours and weekend on-call emergency coverage rotation, with a flexible schedule to accommodate resident needs, including early mornings and evening programming.
  • Ability to lift 20–40 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or respond quickly during emergencies.
  • Ability to walk multiple levels of stairs multiple times daily.
  • Must be able to complete facility rounds and inspections.
  • Must be able to perform extensive standing, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50bs. regularly, to transport and stock assigned supplies and materials. Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb to reach materials.

Responsibilities

  • Support residents through home visits focused on maintaining client goals, including morning routines, household organization, and schedule management.
  • Monitor medication adherence and assist with refill coordination as needed.
  • Develop weekly group activities and outings for the community including facilitating weekend field trips and evening get togethers.
  • Responsible for resident and family case management in collaboration with senior leadership and other team members.
  • Conduct weekly “parents calls” with resident families to discuss residents' progress.
  • Oversee all resident schedules in collaboration with team members.
  • Coordinates and completes the resident admission and discharge process to maintain an accurate daily census (bed flow, admissions, discharges) in collaboration with Program Director and Executive Leadership.
  • Complete Quality Assurance Reviews to confirm the documentation of ongoing residents are accurate and up-to-date with supervision from the Program Director.
  • Assist in providing crisis intervention, as necessary.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the interdisciplinary team to discuss clinical, financial, and organizational needs.
  • Connect with outside clinical care teams and medical providers, ongoing, to ensure residents are supported with clinical needs.
  • Assists in marketing the program and increasing the referral base.
  • Conduct dWELL Recovery tours to families of prospective residents, as needed.
  • In collaboration with the Program Director and oversee program budget and expense reports.
  • Oversight of the day-to-day operations of the program under the supervision of the Program Director.
  • Lead the completion of the weekly employee schedules.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new DC team members with Program Director.
  • Reports to Program Director & Co-Founders of dWELL Recovery.
