About The Position

This position performs work assisting in the formulation of financial aid policies, interpreting federal and state regulations, supervising staff handling aid programs, and monitoring scholarships to prevent over-awarding. Extensive knowledge of Federal and Florida state financial aid rules is required. The position also involves collaborating on system implementations and supervising the VA coordinator, along with a strong commitment to exceptional student service. Day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required with a minimum of four years of experience in student financial aid.
  • One year of experience must be at a supervisory level and one year of processing of Title IV Financial Aid Programs.

Nice To Haves

  • The Master’s degree, preferred, with a minimum of three years of experience in student financial aid.
  • One year of experience must be at the supervisory level and one year of processing of Title IV Financial Aid Programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the implementation of policies stemming from federal and state regulations updates to ensure compliance.
  • Maintains statistical data and letters pertaining to financial aid programs, consumer information, and helps maintains an office policy and procedures manual.
  • Assists the Director of Financial Aid with monitoring and coordinating financial aid satisfactory progress in relation to financial aid and college policies.
  • Works extensively with the Foundation in the management of scholarships.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of cross-training activities for the financial aid staff.
  • Coordinates dissemination of financial aid information to the consumer as it relates to the application process and policies of the Fin. Aid Office.
  • Counsels students on financial aid.
  • Assists in implementing computer systems.
  • Manages all Financial Aid programs under the purview of the Director.
  • Supervises and coordinates all activities of three technicians.
  • Supervises Financial Aid Assistants in their front desk duties and customer service.
  • Acts as a liaison with other college offices.
  • Represents Director of Financial Aid as needed.
  • Manages the Federal Work-Study Program.
  • Keeps abreast of fund balances in order not to exceed program allocations and to assist Director with reconciliation of disbursements.
  • Coordinates the balancing of all funds with the Business Office.
  • Maintains study workers’ files.
  • Ensures the Federal Work-Study Program is administered in accordance with Federal and College guidelines.
