About The Position

The Assistant Spa Director supports the overall leadership, financial performance, and day-to-day operations of the Spa & Wellness operation. This role partners closely with the Spa Director to ensure exceptional guest experience, strong team engagement, operational excellence, and achievement of revenue and profitability goals. The Assistant Spa Director acts as a visible leader on the floor, providing coaching, accountability, and hands-on operational support while helping to drive strategic initiatives across spa, fitness, and retail.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of leadership experience in a spa, wellness, hospitality, or luxury service environment
  • Forbes Travel Guide Four or Five Star Experience is required
  • Proven experience managing teams in a fast-paced, guest-facing operation
  • Strong understanding of spa operations and service delivery standards
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Support daily spa operations, ensuring seamless service delivery across all guest touchpoints
  • Actively resolve guest concerns and recovery opportunities with professionalism and empathy
  • Ensure adherence to Forbes/LQA standards, brand standards, and internal SOPs
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor during peak periods, weekends, and special events
  • Lead, coach, and mentor spa leaders, supervisors, and front-line associates
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management
  • Foster a positive, accountable culture aligned with service excellence and teamwork
  • Support disciplinary actions and corrective coaching in partnership with People Services
  • Assist in managing departmental budgets, labor controls, and productivity metrics
  • Monitor utilization, booking trends, yield strategies, and revenue performance
  • Support retail sales strategies, inventory controls, and merchandising standards
  • Contribute to forecasting, monthly reporting, and variance analysis
  • Partner with Marketing and Group Sales to support promotions, events, and group experiences
  • Assist in developing seasonal programming, wellness events, and local engagement initiatives
  • Support execution of spa promotions, retail activations, and fitness programming
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, payroll, and labor standards
  • Support SOP development, training documentation, and audit preparation
  • Assist with vendor coordination, equipment upkeep, and facility standards
  • Maintain the company image and vision statement.
  • Make optimal use of financial resources.
  • Encourage the ongoing training and personal development of each associate.
  • Participate in ongoing evaluation and improvement of spa operations.
