About The Position

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking an Assistant Director of Security to join the only double Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences. The Assistant Director of Security will be responsible for overseeing the property’s security operations while working with all departments to promote a safe environment.

Requirements

  • Must obtain a CPR certification, as well as a state issued Private Security Officer Level II License within 30 days of hire date. Must achieve CLSO designation within 6 months of hire date
  • Knowledge and understanding of state laws and municipal ordinances. Proficient in various software operating systems including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other security platforms
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required
  • Capable of standing for extended periods of time while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor
  • Ability to ascent multiple stairwell levels at an expedite pace in emergency instances

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but can be substituted with 5-7 yeas of applicable work experience. Previous Law Enforcement Officer and/or a Hotel Security Manager/Director experience with Forbes or luxury hospitality environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review daily activity reports to detect unusual activity, identify trends, and correct hazardous discrepancies.
  • Train department colleagues on investigative techniques, incident reporting practices while regularly reviewing reports submitted by those colleagues
  • Promote a safe working environment including OSHA mandated standards. Write, create, update, and implement policies and SOPs as needed
  • Manage the property’s emergency preparedness programs while educating colleagues on procedures, implementing evacuation drills, regular checks of life/safety equipment, and continuous updates of plans and manuals
  • Experience using video management systems, to view, replay, and archive surveillance footage.
  • Maintain all administrative facets of the security technology systems including video management, electronic access control, key control, and reporting platforms
  • Serve as a liaison and coordinate between the hotel and various law enforcement agencies who will be coordinating visits from high profile guests
  • Represent the Post Oak Security Department in meetings with both internal and external guests and clients.
  • Oversee criminal and civil investigations and lead initiatives to pursue restitution when applicable
  • Ensure compliance and training mandates in accordance to state law and corporate policies
