The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing all staff education, evaluations, disciplines, and HR management; acting as the medical records management system champion and rolling out education for nurses regarding the system; and ensuring quality customer care and service in accordance with United Church Homes (UCH) policies and procedures. Essential Functions Statement(s) Oversees staff development, including the training and education of nursing staff Makes rounds with doctor and nurse practitioner every week Ensures competencies for STNAs (including catheter, medpath, dressing changes, etc.) Resolves resident, staff, and family issues and complaints Assists Director of Nursing as necessary Conducts pre-admission assessments Completes daily audits of electronic medical records, including follow-up with employees to ensure accuracy Completes audits of the electronic medication program Oversees restorative care program Conducts interviews for new hires Completes staff interviews, appreciation, corrective or disciplinary action, and performance evaluations Conducts monthly STNA meetings, discussing any new issues, training, resident concerns, etc. Assists with admissions and referrals as needed Manages schedule call-off's and ensures the facility is properly staffed Attends quality assurance and other meetings as required Ensures staff delivers quality care and service, according to UCH policies and procedures, reporting violations, abuse or mistreatment to the proper authorities Liaises with corporate office regarding electronic medical records, troubleshooting as necessary Performs all other duties as assigned or directed Wound certification and Infection Control training required
