ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. To assist Director of Nursing to assure that the health needs of the residents are met. Ensure that resident immunization records and lab work are up to date and in accordance with physician orders. Ensuring medications are properly administered and in accordance with physician orders. Monitor the self-medication programs to ensure proper technique and documentation. Monitor medication including controlled substance documentation to ensure accuracy. Assist in Group Home and Cila Nurse Trainer and HRST responsibilities as needed. Follow-up on, observe, and document residents with recent injury or illness to ensure quality care and proper notification to families and guardians. Responsible for reporting any potential health hazards which affect the safety of the residents or the employees. Continuously strive to improve the health and welfare of each resident. Suggest and initiate, with physician approval, techniques to maintain and strengthen skills Foster human dignity and personal worth for each resident; enhance communication with residents, families, and guardians. Completes and maintains Nursing schedule / assignments. Manage wound care and monitor infection control. Maintain accurate documentation for each program. Provide IDPH notification of ER visits/hospitalizations and resident-to-resident incidents as needed. Participate in Nursing On-Call Rotation. Performs other duties as assigned. Reasoning Ability: Able to recognize possible conflict or potential aggressive situation and use technical skills of diffusion and resolution. Technology Skills: Utilizes computer to accomplish job tasks. Computer literacy essential in word processing, spreadsheet applications, and databases. Knowledge of Outlook or similar program. From time to time, employee may be required to work long hours. The employee is frequently required to use both hands, push/pull, temp changes use sharp objects, and talk. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. On occasion, noise level may be very loud. On occasion the work environment may be cold and hot. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the ability to hear when communicating with employees and using a phone line.
