The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) provides professional nursing care to patients and residents in line with Ridgecrest Village/Crest Health Care Center guidelines. This individual supervises and assists Registered Nurses, LPN’s, Certified Nursing Aides, and Living Assistants to ensure quality care standards are met. This position will work 11:30am - 8:00pm and provide assistance with rotating on-call. Assures resident care according to accepted standards. Observes, assesses, and reports resident condition/changes and documents. Receives, transcribes, and implements physician’s orders. Implements and evaluates care plans. Identifies and secures equipment supplies. Directs and oversees subordinates. Participates in duty assignment. Organizes and coordinates subordinates, job tasks, and time allotments. Oversees and monitors functions and activities of subordinate staff. Monitors infection control compliance. Investigates and documents accidents and incidents. Encourages safety to prevent accidents. Assures equipment safety. Demonstrates competency in skills mandated by required education and training.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be graduates from an accredited nursing school and hold a current Iowa nursing license.
  • Completion of a supervisory course, as required by Iowa for nursing home facilities, is also necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of supervisory experience is preferred, preferably in long-term care, with strong leadership, management skills and a commitment to high quality care.
