About The Position

A skilled nursing facility in Orange, NJ is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support nursing leadership and oversee clinical operations. This role requires prior ADON experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting and a strong working knowledge of regulatory compliance, staffing, and clinical oversight. The ADON will work closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure high-quality resident care, survey readiness, and smooth day-to-day nursing operations.

Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of New Jersey
• Previous experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in a SNF or LTC facility is required
• Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations for skilled nursing facilities
• Experience with surveys, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
• Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to support staff while maintaining clinical and regulatory standards

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing with overall clinical and nursing operations
• Provide leadership and support to nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
• Ensure compliance with state regulations, CMS guidelines, and facility policies
• Participate in survey preparation, response, and follow-up
• Monitor clinical documentation, care plans, and quality measures
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, onboarding, and performance management
• Address clinical concerns, incident reports, and family inquiries as needed
• Help maintain a culture of accountability, teamwork, and quality care
