About The Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily clinical and operational functions to ensure the delivery of safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care. This role provides clinical leadership across nursing services and Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs), ensuring coordinated, patient-centered care in a structured and therapeutic environment. The ADON serves as a key leader in staffing, training, regulatory compliance, and interdisciplinary collaboration while maintaining a strong presence on the units. Key Responsibilities Clinical & Operational Leadership Support and inspire nursing staff and Behavioral Health Technicians by fostering a collaborative, respectful, and professional work environment Assist with oversight of patient care operations, including medication administration, assessments, documentation, and adherence to clinical and quality standards Provide direct supervision and operational oversight of Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to ensure appropriate patient engagement, safety monitoring, and therapeutic support Partner with BHT leadership to reinforce expectations, address performance concerns, and support consistent staff accountability Staffing & Scheduling Assist with managing nursing and BHT schedules, ensuring adequate staffing coverage and maintaining strong PRN depth Respond to staffing needs in real time, including call-offs, shift coverage, and acuity adjustments Staff Development & Training Provide mentorship, coaching, onboarding, and ongoing education for nursing staff and Behavioral Health Technicians Support training on de-escalation, safety protocols, trauma-informed care, and patient engagement standards Promote professional growth and reinforce performance expectations through regular feedback and collaboration Admissions & Patient Safety Support oversight of the Intake Team to ensure a smooth, respectful, and supportive admission process for patients Assist in implementing and monitoring infection control practices, risk management systems, and incident reporting procedures Ensure prompt response, documentation, and follow-up of clinical or behavioral incidents involving patients or staff Collaboration & Leadership Coverage Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care Serve as a clinical role model by stepping in to provide direct patient care when needed Participate in leadership coverage, including serving as Manager on Call, to support seamless 24/7 facility operations Quality Improvement Identify and implement process improvements that enhance patient experience, staff performance, safety, and operational efficiency Support compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and licensing requirements Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice BSN required; MSN or higher preferred 3+ years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or a related healthcare setting Demonstrated experience supervising or working closely with Behavioral Health Technicians or similar support staff Strong clinical judgment with the ability to lead, coach, and develop multidisciplinary teams Working knowledge of regulatory standards, including Joint Commission, infection control, and risk management Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-acuity or crisis situations Authorization to work in the United States required Why Join Us At our company, we value authenticity, accountability, compassion, and excellence. Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • BSN required
  • 3+ years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or a related healthcare setting
  • Demonstrated experience supervising or working closely with Behavioral Health Technicians or similar support staff
  • Strong clinical judgment with the ability to lead, coach, and develop multidisciplinary teams
  • Working knowledge of regulatory standards, including Joint Commission, infection control, and risk management
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-acuity or crisis situations
  • Authorization to work in the United States required
