Your Key Responsibilities: As the ADON, you serve as a vital link between nursing staff and administration.

Requirements

  • Must possess a current, valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
  • Previous experience in a nursing leadership role (Unit Manager, Supervisor, or ADON) in a skilled nursing or post-acute setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Title 22 and OBRA regulations.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving abilities, and the heart of a mentor.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the DON in planning, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff (LVNs and CNAs) to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, monitor clinical outcomes, and ensure the facility is always "survey-ready."
  • Oversee staff training and ensure that all nursing protocols—including infection control and wound care—meet the highest standards.
  • Collaborate with families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate complex care plans and ensure resident satisfaction.
  • Manage nursing schedules, assist with clinical audits, and step in as a clinical leader whenever necessary.
