About The Position

Hutchings Psychiatric Center (HPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited hospital, is recruiting an Assistant Director of Nursing 1, Psychiatric (ADON) to serve as the Inpatient Assistant Director of Nursing (Inpatient ADON), who would provide nursing leadership to all nursing staff assigned to HPC's Inpatient units. As the Inpatient ADON you will report to the Director of Nursing 3, Psychiatry (DON), and assist in the management, oversight, and evaluation of nursing and direct care services including: Assisting with the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures. Monitoring nursing coverage plan for inpatient services. Assisting with the recruitment and retention of nursing staff. Contributing to the interpretation of rules, laws, regulations, guidelines, polices, and procedures. Monitoring and reviewing unit clinical and administrative needs through scheduling. Reviewing and complete performance evaluations and probation reports and monitor attendance of subordinate staff. Monitoring and ensuring compliance with various accreditation standards for nursing services. Ensuring Joint Commission and CMS Standards compliance. Ensuring active treatment/nursing documentation is complete and recorded for each patient. Responsible for safe levels related to unit acuity of inpatient unit staffing during off tours, weekends and holidays. Requirements

  • Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Two years of post-licensure professional clinical nursing experience working with individuals, at least 50% of whom have been diagnosed with mental illness, addiction, or substance use disorder. One year of the experience must have been at a supervisory level.
