About The Position

This posting is for a full-time, 12-month, exempt position. This position is responsible to steward the Direct PLUS loan and private alternative loan program which includes reviewing eligibility, monitor application submissions, and staying current on regulations; manage communication with students needing additional documentation prior to awarding; review documentation pertaining to database match issues (citizenship, aggregate loan limits, etc.); serve as a member of the Special Circumstance Committee; participate in outreach activities such as resource tables during special events; provide general financial aid and scholarship guidance to families during peak times; assist the Office of Student Employment with Federal Work Study issues; assist Director with file collection for audits; understanding and applying federal packaging to assist in awarding process; and working with other team members to accomplish the goals of the Office of Financial Aid. Essential Functions This position requires regular, predictable, reliable attendance in the office environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Financial aid experience desirable; two years of experience in related area required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data integration activities including but not limited to: grant and loan records to the Department of Education (COD), additional inbound files from the Department of Education (COD) and private loans (ScholarNet).
  • Manage Direct Plus and private loan process, continuous research PLUS regulations.
  • Review additional documents needed to process ISIR.
  • Review and correct rejected loan records.
  • Serve as a liaison with the business office regarding loan and disbursement questions and the admissions records team regarding data integrity.
  • Perform initial verification and return of title-IV calculations; monitor the return of all grant and loan funds per the return of aid calculation.
  • Assist with Federal Work Study program.
  • Assist with application of Federal Work Study program.
  • Provide helpful customer service—in person and on phone—to the various constituents-- parents, students, faculty/staff/coaches.
  • Provide assistance with the collection of documentation for audit purposes.
  • Provide assistance to financial aid staff on various projects/initiatives.
  • Assist in managing the Office of Financial Aid.
  • Provides training and monitoring of Financial Aid Counselors.
  • Perform all other duties as appropriate for the position.
