Under administrative direction, the Emergency Management Deputy Director supports Tulsa County’s all-hazards emergency management program, including preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation. The incumbent develops, updates and maintains emergency operations plans and continuity of operations plans for the County; coordinates with internal county departments and external agencies (city, state, federal, private sector) including the local communities within Tulsa County as well as the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management; plans and executes training and exercises; and supports activation and operation of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) or other incident management structures during incidents or planned events covering the more than 1 million residents in Tulsa County. Safety-Sensitive Position: Yes (as defined under Oklahoma Statute Title 63 § 427.8) All candidates conditionally offered transfer, promotion or initial hiring into a DOT/safety-sensitive position shall submit to testing for drugs and alcohol and test negative before performing any job functions that are safety-sensitive or require a CDL. External job applicants with a confirmed positive drug or alcohol test result shall be denied employment and shall be required to wait one year before applying for another position within Tulsa County.
