About The Position

Walnut Street Center is a not-for-profit human service agency that empowers adults with Intellectual Disabilities to live engaged and meaningful lives. WSC provides this by offering quality, outcome-based services which meet evolving stakeholder's needs and bring together caring, engaged, and informed family members, friends, community partners, and employees to support these individuals. We're looking for an Assistant Director of Day Habilitation Program in Medford, MA. This role has responsibility for oversight of the daily operation of a Day Program for individuals with disabilities. Other responsibilities include supervision of staff, supervising daily program activities, coordinating goal implementation and program objectives, and overseeing member services. The Assistant Director assists in developing, implementing and supervising trainings, and case management requirements of individuals. They provide direct care support as needed and additional coordination of program duties as requested. They also supervise a clinical team. Candidates must have experience working with the ID/DD population in a managerial role. Experience working in a Day Habilitation/MassHealth funded setting required. This role is interesting because you will: Create and distribute staff daily schedules, which includes maintaining ratios, while providing coverage for transportation, community outings and breaks. Direct daily performance and provide feedback to Direct Support Professionals. Ensure supervisors are aware of performance issues that may negatively affect program operations. Assist in the communication of information from management to employees including but not limited to new participants starts, training on new goals and changes to protocols. Assists in the development and implementation of courses and curriculum in subject areas approved by management. Ensure quality, proactive, and consistent communications with all guardians and when applicable, family members either verbally or in writing. Manage timelines for all annual support plan material across assigned program(s). Assist with reviewing and updating plan material as necessary. Assist with regular record review and maintenance of Individuals’ confidential files, ensuring records are in compliance with Mass Health (Optum) and DDS standard. Participate in regular communication with Individuals’ PCP to ensure consents and documents are signed and filed in a timely manner. Submit assessments to inter-disciplinary team members, service coordinators, and HCSIS. Complete program and clinical reviews; Prepare program for internal and external evaluations (i.e. CARF/ QUEST). Attend ISP/ DHSP meetings and other meetings as necessary. Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly data and reports are submitted timely and accurately. Flexibility in supporting daily operations as needed, including but not limited to direct care, room, or break coverage. Share in program driving responsibilities, including but not limited to drop-off and pick-up of staff/individuals during outings. Monitor the health and physical/mental well-being of the individual. Responds to concerns immediately and coordinates with appropriate clinical staff to address issues. Maintain a physically safe work environment and report work related injuries to Human Resources in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent required, Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Human Services, Nursing, Social Work, or relevant equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in a Day Program Setting
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Covid-19 Vaccine Card
  • Ability to pass background checks
  • Proficient in record management and electronic data systems preferred
  • Knowledge of DDS and/or MA Health regulations preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including: Outlook, Word & Excel
