About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant Director of Career and Internship Services, College of Engineering [R0148937] . ROLE of the POSITION Reporting to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs in the College of Engineering, the Assistant Director of Career and Internship Services oversees all aspects of the College’s Career Services Center. The position balances student-facing and employer-facing responsibilities while aligning with UNLV’s workforce development and career-readiness initiatives. The Assistant Director counsels engineering and computer science students and alumni on career readiness, internship pathways, and professional development. The role coordinates the College’s industry mentoring program, organizes training workshops and career forums, and collaborates with the Director of Student Success to deliver tailored development programs. The position also expands student access to employment opportunities through job posting systems, mentoring platforms, and participation in both College-level and campus-wide career fairs, while supervising student workers who assist in service delivery. In collaboration with UNLV Career Services and the Office of Workforce Development, the Assistant Director builds and maintains long-term partnerships with local, regional, and national employers in engineering and technology fields. The position promotes employer engagement through career fairs, networking events, on-campus recruiting, and sponsorships of student projects and professional programs. The Assistant Director ensures consistent follow-up, gathers employer feedback, and fosters inclusive hiring practices that support diverse and equitable career pathways for students. Working closely with central Career Services staff, the Assistant Director ensures College of Engineering students are well represented in campus-wide initiatives, provides regular reports on career and internship outcomes, and serves on College and Departmental Advisory Boards. The College of Engineering, established in 1957, enrolls over 3,900 students across multiple disciplines, including electrical, computer, mechanical, civil, and construction engineering, computer science, engineering technology, and cybersecurity. Requirements

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
  • Five years of experience in higher education or business development role
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 5-7 years progressively responsible experience in higher education career services, college recruiting, consulting, training and development, business development or relationship building and customer service role.
