About The Position

The Assistant Director of Campus Life & Residential Education role at Lycoming College, a private liberal arts and sciences institution, serves as a student‑centered, visionary educator and community builder. These are both live‑in positions that play an essential role in cultivating a robust, inclusive, and developmentally rich campus culture that supports students’ academic, personal, and social success. The Assistant Director provides strategic leadership for the first-year residential experience and the College’s student conduct system. They ensure that campus housing is well-managed, educationally purposeful, and safe; spearhead First-Year Experience initiatives in first-year residence halls and across campus, and collaborate to create a fair, equitable, and learning-focused Community Standards process. The Senior Director supervises the Assistant Director of Campus Life & Residential Education . Provides both direct and indirect leadership to student staff across the residential system, collaborating closely with campus partners to advance student success, well-being, and engagement. Please note that one of the positions will have a focus on First-Year Experience and Civic Engagement while the other position will have a focus on Upper-Class experience in Residence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree in higher education, student personnel, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous years of progressive experience in residential life or other higher education areas, including but not limited to student life programming, administration, and supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate programs successfully with other college departments, experience in group facilitation and conflict resolution, student staff training and development, budget and occupancy planning and management, computer literacy, and a commitment to diversity is necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check annually in compliance with the College’s insurance regulation requirements and the ability to operate campus safety vehicles.
  • Successful completion of ACT 153 Clearances.
