About The Position

This position has responsibility for ensuring compliance with NCAA, Sunshine State and Florida Tech rules and regulations. This position is a member of a team responsible for leading an intercollegiate athletics program that supports 15 sport programs and approximately 360 scholar-athletes. The Assistant Director for Compliance is responsible for work required to comply with all NCAA, Sunshine State and University rules and regulations. This position provides pertinent and timely compliance information to various internal and external constituencies, responding to questions and interpreting regulations when necessary. The position will also assist with other compliance duties that support the overall objectives of the compliance program.

Requirements

  • NCAA rules and regulations knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Knowledge of procedures to monitor and enforce rules and regulations.
  • Ability and desire to perform accurate, detail-oriented work, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and sound judgments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Ellucian Banner, Slate, and Teamworks software
  • Prior experience with NCAA applications (e.g., LSDBi, RSRO, CA2)
  • NCAA Division I/II compliance related experience on campus, at the NCAA national office, in a conference office setting or legal experience
  • Knowledge of WorkDay, Excel, Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of precertification process to evaluate initial eligibility, amateurism, and admission status for prospective student-athletes.
  • Evaluation of International and Domestic Transfer Scholar-Athletes
  • Collection and reconciliation of playing & practice season, countable athletically related activity, and time management plan information.
  • Execution of recruiting monitoring systems.
  • Work with Admissions, Financial Aid, the Registrar and other campus constituents.
  • Assist in developing and implementing timely education programs for coaches and scholar-athletes.
  • Prepare and submit NCAA and Sunshine State waivers
  • Data entry in compliance software for recruiting, eligibility, and financial aid.
  • Monitor NIL Prgram.
  • Oversee book program
  • Other Duties as assigned
